Vacancy : Administration Assistant

We are a friendly, and highly regarded furniture school, offering part and full time courses. A small team of experienced staff, with a vibrant community of students who are eager to learn and grow in our creative and artistic environment.  Based in our idyllic workshops in Somerset we have a vacancy for an administration assistant.

We require an adaptable and proactive individual with strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and a good understanding of IT systems. Handling email enquiries from prospective students, managing administrative tasks, and assisting with the day-to-day operations of our small but dedicated team. The role requires adaptability, excellent written communication skills, with the ability to respond to detailed email enquiries in a clear, friendly, and informative manner.

Key Requirements:

  • Strong organisational and time management skills

  • Adaptable, with a strong independent work ethic

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Excellent level of IT skills

  • Creative mindset with an eye for detail

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic environment

  • Experience in a similar role preferred

  • Driving licence due to location

Key Responsibilities:

  • General admin, including responding to inquiries via phone, email, and social media platforms, ordering, greeting visitors

  • Managing and updating the school's database, diaries, mailing lists and service contracts

  • Co-ordinating courses, including enrolment, health and safety, literature and support

  • Contributing new ideas and opportunities that maintain and development Williams and Cleal

  • Undertake additional general duties related to the workshop office and classroom as deemed appropriate

  • To work collaboratively with students and colleagues to continuously improve and support all aspects of Williams and Cleal

  • To be part of a supportive and effective team
